Both desktop products are for Windows 10/11 (x64).

How much do the products cost?

Qurvature is £29 and Pulse is £19. See each product page for availability.

Can I download a free trial yet?

Yes. Qurvature and Pulse both include a 30-day free trial. Download the Windows installer from the software downloads page.

Can I buy the products now?

Yes. Buy Now opens a product purchase page, followed by Square-hosted checkout. Qurvature is £29 and Pulse is £19. Read the product’s licence and download information before paying.

Do these products create a virtual audio device?

Qurvature and Pulse desktop processing attaches an audio effect to a selected Windows audio endpoint, rather than requiring a virtual audio device.

Can I process a microphone or a playback device?

Both desktop products support selecting a Windows input or playback endpoint. Check that the endpoint selected in the application is the one your audio is using.

Is Qurvature available as a plug-in?

A separate Windows x64 VST3 edition of Qurvature is described on its product page. It runs inside a compatible DAW.

Is Pulse a VST3 plug-in?

The Pulse product described here is a Windows audio-device processor. A Pulse VST3 edition is not currently listed.

Qurvature

How many EQ bands does Qurvature have?

Qurvature has 31 bands, with independent frequency, gain and Q controls.

What is the difference between graphic and parametric editing?

Graphic faders offer a familiar bank of band-level controls. Parametric mode lets you move bands freely and adjust their frequency and Q.

What does Q control?

Q controls the width of an EQ band. A higher Q focuses the adjustment on a narrower frequency region; a lower Q makes it broader.

What are the band frequency and gain ranges?

Band frequency spans 20 Hz–20 kHz, subject to sample-rate limits. Gain ranges are selectable at ±12, ±18 or ±24 dB, and Q spans 0.1–10.

What does Dynamic EQ do?

Dynamic EQ changes the response of an individual band according to signal level. Each band can have its own threshold, ratio, maximum change, attack and release.

What is the difference between Dynamic Cut and Boost?

Cut applies level-dependent attenuation in the selected frequency region. Boost applies level-dependent gain. Use the maximum-change control to limit the amount.

What are the Dynamic EQ ranges?

Threshold is −72–0 dBFS, ratio is 1:1–20:1 and maximum change is 0–12 dB. Attack is 0.1–200 ms and release is 5–2,000 ms.

Can I adjust left and right independently?

Yes. Qurvature supports linked stereo, independent left/right settings and Mid/Side processing.

What is Mid/Side EQ useful for?

Mid represents the shared centre information and Side represents stereo differences. Separate EQ can help shape the centre and width-related frequency balance; check the result in mono as well.

What does Warmth do?

Warmth adds analogue-inspired colour. Drive controls intensity, Tone adjusts its balance and Mix blends the effect. The Warmth stage uses 4× oversampling.

What ranges do the Warmth controls offer?

Drive spans 0–18 dB, Tone spans −100–100% and Mix spans 0–100%.

Does Qurvature have high-pass and low-pass filters?

Yes. The high-pass range is 10 Hz–20 kHz and the low-pass range is 20 Hz–24 kHz, with nominal slopes of 6–48 dB per octave. Available frequencies depend on sample rate.

What does the spectrum analyser show?

It provides live input/output spectrum analysis alongside the EQ response so you can compare frequency content with your adjustments.

How can I compare two EQ settings?

Use the A/B snapshots to compare settings and bypass to compare processing with the unprocessed signal. The desktop edition also includes RMS comparison.

What does the output limiter provide?

The switchable lookahead output limiter includes input gain, a true-peak ceiling, release and 1×/4× modes. Overload warnings remain visible before compensation.

How much latency does Qurvature add?

The documented fixed processing delay is 256 samples, including bypass. Device and host buffering add their own delay.

What differs between the desktop and VST3 editions?

The desktop edition includes a desktop preset library, separate LUFS and test-signal windows, RMS comparison and tray integration. Those separate desktop tools are not included in the VST3 build.

Does the VST3 edition support DAW automation?

Yes. Its listed features include host automation, mono/stereo buses, project-state recall and Cubase Quick Controls.

Does desktop processing cover every audio path?

No. Windows endpoint processing does not cover every ASIO, exclusive/raw or protected path. If your audio is unchanged, check the endpoint and the audio path used by the playback application.

Does the desktop licence apply to VST3?

The desktop edition has PC-specific licensing and a documented 30-day trial. Desktop licensing does not apply to the separate VST3 edition; do not assume it activates that edition.

Pulse

What does Pulse do?

Pulse is a dynamics processor for shaping punch, controlling peaks and smoothing levels on a selected Windows audio device.

What do threshold and ratio do?

Threshold sets the level where compression begins. Ratio controls how strongly levels above that point are compressed. Pulse offers −60–0 dB threshold and ratios from 1:1 to 20:1.

What do attack and release do?

Attack sets how quickly compression responds and release sets how quickly it eases back. Pulse offers 0.1–100 ms attack and 10–2,000 ms release.

Does Pulse have automatic release?

Yes. Automatic release is available when you want the processor to manage release behaviour rather than rely only on a manually chosen release time.

What does the knee control do?

Knee changes how gradually compression begins around the threshold. Pulse provides a continuous 0–24 dB range, from hard to soft.

What do Hold and Lookahead do?

Hold controls how long gain reduction is retained before recovery. Lookahead lets detection anticipate upcoming peaks. Hold spans 0–500 ms and Lookahead spans 0–20 ms.

Can I use parallel compression?

Yes. The 0–100% Mix control blends processed and unprocessed sound. Lower settings retain more of the unprocessed signal.

How much output gain is available?

The Output control spans −24 to +24 dB. Watch the output meters when adding gain.

Does Pulse have automatic makeup gain?

Yes. Optional estimated automatic makeup gain is available. It is an estimate, so compare by ear and check the output meters rather than assuming perfect loudness matching.

What is the difference between Peak and RMS detection?

Peak detection responds to peaks, while RMS detection follows an averaged measure of level. RMS Time controls the averaging interval in RMS mode.

Why is RMS Time greyed out?

RMS Time is disabled in Peak mode because it applies to RMS detection. Switch to RMS to use its 1–100 ms range.

What does Stereo Link do?

Stereo Link controls how strongly the channels share detection behaviour, from 0–100%. It lets you balance independent response against linked stereo control.

Does Pulse support Mid/Side processing?

Yes. Pulse offers Stereo and Mid/Side routing, with independent Mid/Side detectors and shared controls.

What do the sidechain filters affect?

The internal high-pass and low-pass filters shape the detector signal that drives compression. They help focus what the compressor responds to rather than acting as the main programme EQ.

How can I hear the detector signal?

Use Sidechain Listen to audition it. Switch Listen off when returning to normal monitoring.

What range do the sidechain filters cover?

The high-pass and low-pass controls span 20 Hz–20 kHz, limited where necessary by sample rate. Filtering is switchable.

What is the difference between Clean and Character?

Clean is intended for transparent level control. Character adds analogue-inspired colour with an adjustable 0–100% amount.

How does Match Level work?

Measured RMS matching attenuates the louder reference for compression/bypass comparisons rather than adding gain. Overload indications remain visible before that comparison attenuation.

What do the history displays show?

The graphs show live input/output levels and a separate gain-reduction history. Dynamics display ranges are selectable at −60, −36, −24 or −12 dBFS to 0.

What does the compression curve show?

It plots the input/output relationship and updates when threshold, ratio or knee changes. A moving input marker changes from cyan below threshold to amber above it.

How do I reset meter holds and clip indicators?

Use Reset Meters. This clears the resettable holds and clip indications so you can observe a fresh section of audio.

What is Pulse’s processing latency?

Pulse has a fixed 20 ms processing delay, including bypass. Device buffering can add further delay.

Can Pulse process WAV files?

Yes. Background WAV processing accepts mono/stereo PCM16 or float32 WAV input and exports float32 WAV with processing latency trimmed. It protects the source from being overwritten.

How do I make precise knob adjustments?

Drag a knob or use the mouse wheel. Shift-drag gives finer control, and double-clicking allows numerical entry.

Can I undo changes or compare settings?

Pulse provides Undo and Redo, Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y shortcuts, A/B settings banks and bank swap. It also supports saving/loading presets and recalling the previous session.

Why does the device state say waiting or bypassed?

Pulse distinguishes attached, waiting, bypassed and processing states. Processing depends on a changing audio-engine heartbeat; a selected endpoint alone does not guarantee active audio is being processed.

What happens when the effect is removed?

Effect removal restores the backed-up endpoint settings. Pulse also includes device rescanning and reconnection handling.

Do I need an Installation ID before paying?

No. Purchase first, then download and install. For Qurvature, copy the Installation ID from Settings → Licensing and email it with your Square receipt reference to info@satyastudios.uk.

Is my licence key delivered instantly?

No. Licence keys are generated and emailed manually after payment is checked. The download is available immediately; an automatic payment receipt is not a licence key.

Where can I download the installers?

Open Software Downloads for the Windows installers and activation instructions. Both products include a 30-day trial and an Installation ID under Settings → Licensing.
