Song Rights and Ownership

These terms cover Gifted in Song commissions from Satya Studios. They explain rights in your story, our original lyrics and the final AI-assisted recording. They do not license our separately released Music for Mental Health catalogue.
Your story remains yours
You retain rights in material you provide, such as your written memories, photographs, existing lyrics and other creative contributions. You give us only the permission reasonably needed to fulfil your order, use agreed production providers and deliver the result. You must have permission to provide and use someone else's protected material.
Please avoid sending unnecessary confidential or sensitive information about other people. We may ask you to remove material that would infringe copyright, privacy or other rights. We do not accept requests to impersonate a real person's voice without proper permission or reproduce protected songs without authorisation.
Original lyrics
After full payment, we will transfer to you the copyright we own in original lyrics written specifically for your commission. We will provide a written assignment signed by the actual copyright owner identifying the song and lyrics. This includes the rights to copy, publish, perform, adapt, translate, distribute and commercially use those lyrics, and to authorise others to do so.
The transfer covers only rights we own. It does not transfer copyright in existing text you or another person supplied, public-domain material, or protected third-party quotations. We will identify agreed exceptions. Rights in a commissioned song are not a promise of rights in our unrelated catalogue, branding, templates or production tools.
Music, vocals, recording and artwork
Your song uses AI-assisted music production. Once paid in full, we grant or transfer to you all rights in the final recording, music, vocals and cover artwork that we lawfully hold and are entitled to pass on. Where assignment is not available but sublicensing is permitted, we grant the broadest lawful worldwide licence for the duration of those rights, without an additional royalty payable to Satya Studios.
That grant permits personal and commercial use to the extent our production rights allow: keeping and gifting copies, sharing, performing, publishing, monetising and using the commissioned recording in projects. We will identify any material restriction before accepting your order. If we cannot provide the rights promised for your order, we will seek your agreement to an alternative or provide the appropriate remedy.
What “full rights” does not promise
AI-assisted content can have different legal protection from wholly human-authored work. We cannot guarantee that copyright subsists in every generated element, that generated elements are unique, or that no similar content will ever be produced elsewhere. We do not promise exclusive copyright where none exists or assign a third party's rights.
Music distributors, social networks and rights-management services apply their own eligibility rules. Permission to use your song does not guarantee acceptance for distribution, copyright registration, Content ID or another exclusive-rights system. Do not assert exclusive rights over elements you do not exclusively control.
Publication and promotion
We will not publish your private commissioned song, story, name or artwork as a sample or advertisement without separate permission. Buying a song is not promotional consent. If we ask to feature your song, we will specify what we want to publish and where.
Your memories and questionnaire
We delete your completed questionnaire, including the memories and any lyrics you supplied within it, immediately when you confirm acceptance of the final track. Keep your own copy if you need it. We retain only the limited order and rights records explained in our Privacy Policy, not the questionnaire for marketing or future AI prompts.
Delivery, amendments and cancellations
Your order includes the MP3 and cover artwork described at checkout. Your included amendment round covers both lyrics and musical arrangement. Send one consolidated set of requested changes after listening to the first delivery: for example names, wording, pronunciation, tempo, instruments, the balance of the arrangement or the feel of the song within the agreed brief. A different recipient, occasion or substantially new song brief is a new commission and needs a separate agreement. Corrections needed to meet the original brief or your statutory rights do not use up this allowance. Cancellation and remedies are governed by our Refund and Cancellation Policy; the statutory rights explained there remain intact. After a full refund ending a cancelled commission, the rights grant ends to the extent lawfully provided in the refund agreement; you retain rights you already held in your own contributions. The missed-deadline guarantee is an exception: you keep the delivered track and all agreed song and lyric rights despite the full refund.
Lyric assignment supplied with delivery
The signed assignment will identify the copyright owner, customer, order reference, final song title and attached lyric version. It will state the rights transferred, any exceptions and the effective date after payment. Contact info@satyastudios.uk if you need confirmation for a distributor or another intended use.
Missed delivery deadline
If we miss the agreed delivery deadline for your personalised song, you receive a full refund and we will still finish and deliver the track free of charge. You keep the same agreed song and lyric rights as a fully paid customer. A later deadline applies only if you expressly agree it with us; we will not extend it unilaterally.
