Compression that follows your sound

Adjust threshold, ratio, attack, release and a continuously variable knee. Automatic release, Hold and Lookahead give you further control over the response. Blend processed and unprocessed sound with the Mix control.

Choose what drives the detector

Select Peak or RMS detection, adjust Stereo Link, or work in Stereo or Mid/Side. Switchable sidechain high-pass and low-pass filters let you focus detection; Sidechain Listen lets you audition the detector signal.

Clean control or added character

Use Clean mode for transparent level control, or Character mode with an adjustable amount. A/B banks and measured RMS level matching support compression/bypass comparisons by attenuating the louder reference.

Watch the signal respond

Live input/output history, separate gain-reduction history, a compression transfer curve and full-height stereo meters show the response. Peak holds, clip indicators and pre-comparison overload warnings remain visible.

Device processing and WAV export

Attach Pulse to a selected Windows playback or input endpoint. Save presets and recall your previous session, or process mono/stereo PCM16 or float32 WAV files in the background and export float32 WAV with latency trimmed. The source file is protected from overwrite.
