A message from the founder

Why this exists
For twenty years, I worked front of house as a sound engineer.
Then my own head stopped cooperating.
The simplest word is breakdown. Agoraphobia, severe anxiety, chronic depression, and a lot of old childhood trauma that had been waiting a very long time to be dealt with. Eventually, I became housebound.
But sound didn’t get left behind.
It moved in.
Music became part of how I processed everything. I started writing songs because sometimes a verse can hold what an ordinary sentence cannot, and because at three in the morning you need somewhere to put what is going on in your head.
Satya Studios grew out of that.
Being housebound meant the studio had to be at home. What originally looked like a limitation became the entire idea: a small, personal recording space built around music rather than industry.
The software came from the same instinct.
A plugin travels. It does not need me to be anywhere. Qurvature and Pulse are tools I wanted in front of me myself, shaped by years of listening, mixing, EQ, dynamics and working behind a desk.
Recording at Satya Studios is free. Donations are optional. People come to the house, which works for me, and income from the software helps support the room.
I am not a clinician, and Satya Studios is not therapy.
It is simply music, recording and tools created by someone who spent a long time on the floor, and eventually found the desk again.

A small studio. A personal commitment.

Satya Studios is an independently run sole-trader business in Flintshire, North Wales. That means you’re dealing directly with the person behind the work, rather than a limited company or a large studio team.

The hope behind it is simple: a good idea should have somewhere to go, even when it is rough around the edges. Not everyone has a finished song, the confidence to call themselves a musician or money for studio time. There should still be room to try, be heard and make something that matters.

That is why demo recording here is free, with optional donations, and why income from personalised songs and software helps sustain the wider creative work. It is a purpose-led project, built around care for the music and the people bringing it.

Satya Studios is not a limited company and is not VAT registered. No VAT is charged.

What does Satya mean?

Satya is a Sanskrit word meaning truth. For Satya Studios, that idea is the starting point: making room for honest expression and approaching the work with care and integrity.

“Truth Through Sound” connects the name to the purpose. A song can say something we have struggled to put into words. A recording can preserve the character of a performance. An audio tool can help us listen more closely and shape what we hear.

Our approach values clear communication, thoughtful work and an honest account of how things are made. That includes being open about AI-assisted production where it is part of the process, and describing software by what it actually does.
